Θᾶσαι τὸν ἀνδριάντα τοῦτον, ὦ ξένε,
σπουδᾷ καὶ λέγ', ἐπὰν ἐς οἶκον ἔνθηις·
“Ἀνακρέοντος εἰκόν' εἶδον ἐν Τέωι,
τῶν πρόσθ' εἴ τι περισσὸν ὠιδοποιῶν.”
προσθεὶς δὲ χὤτι τοῖς νέοισιν ἅδετο,
ἐρεῖς ἀτρεκέως ὅλον τὸν ἄνδρα.
