{Ἴμβριον αὖτ’} Αἴαντε <μεμαότε>· ὅτι συνεχῶς κέχρηται τοῖς δυϊκοῖς. ἡ δὲ ἀναφορὰ πρὸς τὰ περὶ τῆς πατρίδος· Ἀθηναίων γὰρ ἴδιον.

“But Imbrius, the two eager Ajaxes”: he makes extensive use of the dual form. The reference is to be found in the works on (Homer’s) birthplace: the use of the dual is distinctive to the Athenians.
