Plutarch, Life of Numa 4.8, 62c = T 67 Radt

How to quote this translation

They say that Pan became a lover of Pindar’s songs. And the divine power gave a certain honour both to Archilochus and to Hesiod after they had died on account of the Muses. As for Sophocles, the story goes—for which there are many proofs even today—that Asclepius was given hospitality by him whilst he was still alive and that when he died another god ensured that he received burial.
