λέγουσι δὲ καὶ Σοφοκλέα ἀκούσαντα ὅτι ἐτελεύτησεν, αὐτὸν μὲν ἱματίωι φαιῶι προελθεῖν, τὸν δὲ χόρον καὶ τοὺς ὑποκριτὰς ἀστεφανώτους εἰσαγαγεῖν ἐν τῶι προαγῶνι, καὶ δακρῦσαι τὸν δῆμον.
They say that when Sophocles heard that he (Euripides) had died, he came on in the proagon wearing a dark cloak himself and leading the chorus and the actors without garlands and the people wept.
