Cornelius Gallus Foroiuliensis poeta, a quo primum Aegyptum rectam supra diximus, XLIII aetatis suae anno propria se manu interficit.
The poet Cornelius Gallus of Forum Julium, by whom Egypt was first governed, as we said above, killed himself with his own hand in the forty-third year of his life.
