φασὶ δὲ τὸν Σοφοκλέα ἠξιῶσθαι τῆς ἐν Σάμωι στρατηγίας εὐδοκιμήσαντα ἐν τῆι διδασκαλίαι τῆς Ἀντιγόνης.
They say that Sophocles was judged worthy of the generalship in Samos because of the renown he achieved when he produced the Antigone.
