Ἀναξαγόραι προσεφοίτησεν Εὐριπίδης. Ἀναξαγόρου δὲ λόγος 59 B 1, 13 D.-K. ἐστὶν ὅτι “πάντα ἐν πᾶσιν· εἶτα ὕστερον διεκρίθη”. μετὰ ταῦτα ὠμίλησεν καὶ Σωκράτει καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ εὐπορώτερον ἤγαγε τὸν λόγον. ὁμολογεῖ οὖν τὴν διδασκαλίαν τὴν ἀρχαίαν διὰ τῆς Μελανίππης Fr. 484 Kannicht·
Euripides was an associate of Anaxagoras. Anaxagoras’ doctrine was that ‘all things were in all things; then later they were separated.’ After this, he [Euripides] also associated with Socrates and led his doctrine in a less problematic direction. He therefore agrees with the ancient teaching in the Melanippe.
