Ἡσίοδος δ' Ἀσκραῖος ὀρειάσιν εἴδετο Μούσαις
φθεγγόμενος, χαλκὸν δὲ βιάζετο θυιάδι λύσσηι,
ἔνθεον ἱμείρων ἀνάγειν μέλος.
Ascraean Hesiod appeared to be calling out to the Muses of the mountains, and he strained against the bronze with possessed frenzy, yearning to raise his inspired song.
