The island on which Aristophanes’ estate was.
From this verse some think that Aristophanes composed his comedies in Aegina…but, in truth, he was one of those who obtained land on the island when it was allotted…alternatively: no one recounts that Aristophanes owned land in Aegina, but it seems that this was said about Callistratus, who was allotted land in Aegina after the eviction of the Aeginetans by the Athenians.
