Ἴωνος εἰς (τὸν) αὐτόν·
εἰ καὶ δακρυόεις, Εὐριπίδη, εἷλέ σε πότμος,
καί σε λυκορραῖσται δεῖπνον ἔθεντο κύνες,
τὸν σκηνῆς μελίγηρυν ἀηδόνα, κόσμον Ἀθηνῶν,
τὸν σοφίηι Μουσέων μιξάμενον χάριτα,
ἀλλ’ ἔμολες Πελλαῖον ὑπ’ ἠρίον, ὡς ἂν ὁ λάτρις
Πιερίδων ναίηις ἀγχόθι Πιερίης.
